Brewing time: 2.5 minutes

Coffee type: Arabica,  Robusta or a home blend of Arabica and Robust

Roast type: 

Grind Size: Medium fine

Amount of Coffee: 18 grams

Amount of water: 250 ml of water

Water temperature: 93°C (just before it begins to boil)

 

Brewing method: Fix the filter into the Aero press basket, dampen it and screw the basket on to the bottom of the Aero press. Fill in the coffee ground and shake the Aero press to get the grind to settle in. Pour in a little bit of water to dampen the grind. This is called “blooming” wait for 30 seconds and then fill the Aero press with hot water to the 3.5 mark. Stir well and then place the plunger on top of the Aeropress. Slowly press untill there is a hissing sound from the bottom of the press.

ll the Indian coffee filter brew chamber with coffee powder. lightly press to ensure that it is even and not too compact. Place the filter on the decoction collection chamber. Gently pour in hot water and keep covered. Boil milk. next pour the decoction into the glass of the Dabra. Pour the milk into the glass of decoction. top with the remaining decoction.

(Use a copper Dabra with a 5 mm filter as best you can find one.)

  1. Arabica 70%, Robusta 30% will deliver a full-bodied, rich, and strong cup of coffee with a balanced flavour profile
  2. For the best cup of coffee use roasted beans between 7 and 90 days before brewing and grind freshly before brewing.
  3. Should you choose to use different coffee types, you should experiment with roast types and grind sizes until you get the desired aroma and mouth feel which is unique to each person.
